Antonia, Germany – Aniqa, USA
The time Aniqa and I spent together was amazing! We had so many issues to talk about because we have so much in common! I felt so comfortable at Aniqa’s house, in Aniqa’s life. And for all this I want to thank you! I think that this could be a start of a great friendship. I am so happy! Thank you for everything. Mrs. Wheeler, I want to thank you for arranging the exchange between Antonia and I. I had such a great time in Germany, and Antonia’s family made me feel so at home. Our families have so much in common, it’s unbelievable. During the month we spent together, we became very close and I know I’ll continue writing to her. My trip to Germany was amazing and the family made it ten times better. The family took me to many places. They explained some of the history of the different places in English! It was a very beautiful place!
Once I meet Anja, the girl I am doing the exchange with, we bonded right from the start. We had many similar interests and laughed non-stop. We were able to communicate very easily; her English was really good. Her family also spoke English very well, so communicating was not a problem. I am hoping to return and visit them again and I look forward to next summer when Anja will come to visit me. Brittany – Air Canada family

I would like to thank you for setting me up with Guillaume’s family in France. I spent an excellent two weeks there at the end of July and early August. It was a really great experience for me, a cultural exchange that I really appreciated. We loved having Guillaume at our home in Hawaii for two weeks. It was only possible with your help. Leonardo, Lorenzo, Italy – Joe, Josh, USA
The boys hiked up Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge in the state of Washington. Brothers: Joe, Josh, USA, Leonardo, Lorenzo, Italy.
All is going well. The boys from Italy came to PDX in June and now our boys are in Rome for two weeks. They just called and begged me to let them stay longer, because they are having so much fun. I have worked for America West Airlines/US Airways since 1986 and we have never done anything like this before. This was well worth the experience. Even if we went to Europe, it would never compare to our sons staying with a family with kids the same ages and being shown around by a host family. Thanks for all of your help!
